How to prepare soil for Phalaenopsis cultivation?

How to prepare soil for Phalaenopsis cultivation?

Phalaenopsis suitable soil requirements

Phalaenopsis is suitable for planting in loose, fertile and well-breathable soil. It should not be too thick and the drainage capacity of the cultivation soil must be good. Otherwise, the soil will be seriously waterlogged, which will easily cause the roots of the plant to rot. Avoid using soil cultivation, which is not conducive to the growth of Phalaenopsis.

Phalaenopsis soil preparation method

1. Leaf mold + river sand + fine furnace ash

You can prepare seven parts of leaf mold containing more humus, two parts of clean river sand and one part of relatively fine ash, and mix them thoroughly. The soil prepared in this way is both loose and nutritious, and the soil is mostly neutral or slightly acidic, which is beneficial to the growth of Phalaenopsis.

2. Water grass + moss + pine bark

In addition to the previous preparation method, you can also use aquatic plants, mosses, pine bark, etc. to mix evenly to make new nutrient soil, which can also be used to grow Phalaenopsis. This planting material is very breathable and very suitable for the growth of Phalaenopsis.

Phalaenopsis soil changing method steps

1. Removing the pot: Phalaenopsis generally needs to change the soil every year, otherwise it will affect the normal growth of the plant. After preparing the container and potting soil, you need to water the old pot plenty of water, so that you can remove the pot faster and reduce damage to the roots.

2. Potting: Slowly take the Phalaenopsis out of the original pot, wash the roots with clean water, trim the rotten roots in time, and then place it in a ventilated place to dry for a day. Then put the plant back in the pot, wait for a week and then water it appropriately. Wait for half a month before moving it to the sun.
