How to prevent root rot of Euphorbia pilosa

How to prevent root rot of Euphorbia pilosa

1. Breathable sand

The roots of Euphorbia milii are fleshy roots that cannot tolerate a watery environment and prefer to grow in dry soil, so it is important to prepare suitable soil that takes into account both drainage and water absorption. A suitable substrate can greatly reduce the possibility of root rot. It can be prepared with leaf mold, sandy soil and vermiculite, and the soil prepared in this way is more suitable for growth. Be sure to avoid using soil with poor permeability; soil that is too sticky is not suitable.

2. Control moisture

When applying water, you must control it well. It is better to keep the soil in the pot on the dry side and the amount of water should be appropriate. In the summer, because the evaporation rate is faster, you can add a little more appropriately. If the temperature exceeds 35 degrees Celsius, do not apply too much. In the winter, because the temperature is relatively cold, the amount of water must also be controlled to keep the soil dry and wet.

3. Apply light fertilizer

Fertilizer is also a very critical point. Be sure to apply light fertilizer. Do not use concentrated fertilizer or raw fertilizer to prevent the roots from being burned due to excessive concentration.

4. Prevent diseases and pests

Before selecting the soil for potting, the soil needs to be disinfected to prevent plant infection due to improper disinfection. At the same time, pay attention to good ventilation to prevent diseases and pests.
