How to grow green radish in hydroponics

Hydroponics methods and precautions

Can it be hydroponically grown?

Many friends will ask, can green radish be grown hydroponically? The answer is of course yes!

The green ivy itself is a plant that grows in tropical rainforests and has well-developed aerial roots. It likes a humid, semi-shady environment. With such a unique growth habit, the editor feels that it would be a shame to plant the green radish if it cannot be grown in water!

Hydroponic cutting method

In late spring and early summer, select excellent, healthy and strong green radish stems with aerial roots, each section is 15 to 30 cm. Remove all leaves one or two nodes below the base.

After cutting it, put it in a container filled with clean water. Aquatic roots will grow in about ten days.

Pay attention to changing the water in the first few days of hydroponics. Change the water every two or three days, and once a week after the aquatic roots grow. After the leaves grow, add nutrient solution every ten days, or spray the leaves with diluted nutrient solution.

The roots of hydroponic green radish should be cleaned and repaired regularly. If the roots are too long, they should be shortened in time; if the roots are found to be rotten, they should be cleaned and cut off, and then soaked in potassium permanganate solution for maintenance.

How to change hydroponics to soil cultivation

Everyone has different aesthetic tastes. Some flower lovers are used to growing green radish in water and want to grow it in soil again. So what is the method?

First, we prepare the flower soil and fine sand and mix them in a one-to-one ratio. Take out the hydroponic green radish and bury it in the soil.

Place the potted green radish in a cool environment for about a week, and spray the leaves with dried water every day to maintain a good growing environment.

In a few days, the green radish grown in soil will grow new leaves and the branches will gradually grow longer. With daily care, you can successfully change the water-cultured green radish into soil-cultured green radish.

Hydroponics maintenance methods

Temperature and light

In autumn and winter, the hydroponic green radish should be placed in the best light place indoors, or moved to a sealed balcony to bask in the sun at noon. At the same time, when the temperature is low, try to open the windows as little as possible to avoid frostbite on the leaves. If the room temperature is above 10℃, the hydroponic green radish can safely survive the winter. If the room temperature is above 20℃, the hydroponic green radish can grow normally.

But don't keep the leaves near heating equipment.

Moisture

In summer, you should spray water on the plants more often to keep the leaves green. Before heating in autumn and winter, watering should be reduced and the amount of water should be controlled between 1/4-1/2 of the original. After heating, watering should not be too frequent. Water should seep through the palm fibers, and water should also be sprayed on the aerial roots of the palm column to reduce insufficient water absorption by the roots due to rapid evaporation.

The water quality is better after being dried in the sun for a day.

Fertilization

Before winter, liquid inorganic substances are mainly used, and the frequency is about once every 15 days. After winter, fertilization is mainly done by foliar spraying. Special fertilizers should be used for foliar fertilizers, as ordinary inorganic fertilizers are not easily absorbed by the leaves.
