1. Stay warm

Succulents are usually not resistant to low temperatures, so the most important thing for winter is to keep warm. Normally the environment temperature cannot be lower than 5℃, and for some slightly cold-resistant varieties, it must also be kept above 0℃. In winter, it should be placed in a warm place indoors. If the indoor temperature is not high, you need to put a plastic bag on the upper part of the plant to keep it warm.

2. Sufficient light

Succulents need sufficient light during their growth process, and winter is no exception. You can put it in a sunny place indoors so that it can receive light all day. This not only helps its growth, but also increases the temperature, allowing it to survive the winter better. Moreover, the light in winter is relatively soft and will not burn the leaves of the plants.

3. Reduce watering

As the temperature drops, the growth rate of succulents begins to slow down and their ability to absorb water weakens, so they need to be watered less often. Moreover, water is not easy to evaporate in winter, so the soil must be kept dry. Stop watering when the temperature is below 5℃ to prevent the water from freezing and frostbite the roots of the plants due to lower temperatures.

4. Stop fertilizing

Succulent plants do not require much fertilizer. They basically enter a dormant state in winter and there is no need to continue fertilizing. If you apply fertilizer at this time, the fertilizer is likely to accumulate in the soil, and when the temperature rises in the spring of the following year and the plant resumes growth, it will cause fertilizer damage to it.
