How to grow peony in potted plants

How to grow peony in potted plants

1. Pot soil preparation

There are not too many requirements for the flower pot, just choose according to the size of the plant. The requirements for loam are not high, as long as it can ensure air permeability, drainage, and high nutrition. Using sandy loam is a better choice, which can be mixed with leaf mold, river sand, and garden soil. In order to avoid future troubles, you can spray some carbendazim for disinfection.

2. Provide sunlight

It likes sunlight and is suitable for growing in sunny places so that the flowers can open normally, but it cannot withstand excessive exposure, which can easily cause the plant to wither. Different intensities of sunlight are needed in different seasons. It should be exposed to normal sunlight in spring and autumn, shaded in summer, and can accept full sunlight in winter.

3. Supplement water and fertilizer

It likes a dry growing environment and doesn't like humidity very much, so you don't need to apply too much water, as long as the soil is not too dry, especially in winter. It likes fertilizer very much. Add enough base fertilizer when potting it, and fertilize regularly during the growing period.

4. Control temperature

It likes warm places and cannot tolerate cold and high temperatures. It needs to be kept at 5-8 degrees Celsius in winter and cooled in summer.

5. Pay attention to ventilation

During maintenance, you should also pay attention to ventilation to ensure that the air can circulate normally, which can help prevent diseases and pests.
