How to propagate violets by cuttings

How to propagate violets by cuttings

1. Prepare the soil

Choose some fertile soil, put it in a flowerpot, then put a few small earthworms in it, and add some flower fertilizer to ensure that it has sufficient nutrition in the early stage, and then wet the soil with water.

2. Prepare the cuttings

During the period from spring to summer every year, choose mature plants, find some strong branches on them, and then cut them from the roots. Make sure the cuts are neat and there are no diseases or dead leaves on the branches. In addition, in order to improve the survival rate, you can cut off a few more branches. If they are well maintained, they may all survive. Then apply a layer of mud on the wounds of the cut branches, soothe them well, and leave them for ten minutes to allow the branches time to adapt. This will also be of great help for the later cuttings.

3. Cuttings

Insert the processed cuttings into the soil at a depth of about 4 cm, then place them in a cool place. Expose them to light every day, with more than 4 hours being the best time. Keep the soil moist and don't let it be too dry, otherwise it will be difficult for them to take root.

4. Post-maintenance

After the cuttings are inserted, the leaves on the branches may die, but don't worry, once new roots grow, it will bloom and grow leaves again. In this way, it won’t be long before you have a new plant in your home.
