1. Will it bloom?

Asparagus fern is a plant with ornamental leaves, but it also blooms. The approximate flowering period is around September and October. If the climate is warm, the flowering period may also be around November and December. It rarely blooms when it is generally cared for at home. The suitable maintenance time is too short, and the climate is not suitable for the plant to bloom. It usually takes about 4 or 5 years of maintenance, and the light must be appropriate, and the nutrients and water in the soil must be sufficient before it can bloom.

The flowers of asparagus fern are white, very small, green in the middle, and do not emit fragrance, so the ornamental value of the flowering period is not very high. However, the combination of emerald green branches and leaves and white flowers looks very elegant.

2. Will there be results?

Asparagus fern will bear fruit after flowering, and the fruiting period is from winter to the following spring. Its fruit is green and turns purple-black when mature. The small fruit is also very small, with a diameter of only 6-7mm.

3. Growth Environment

Asparagus fern is native to Africa, so it prefers a warmer environment. It needs to be sufficiently warm and humid during maintenance, and the temperature should be kept at 15-25℃. The maintenance environment should have scattered light, because it likes semi-shade. If there is no light for a long time during the growth period, or the light is too strong, it will also affect its growth and flowering and fruiting. It is a drought-intolerant plant. When cultivating it, you should add water in time to ensure that there is sufficient moisture in the soil, but don't water it too much, otherwise the roots will rot.
