How to make succulent leaves sprout fastest

How to make succulent leaves sprout fastest

1. Break leaves and dry them

If you want the leaves of succulents to sprout quickly, you should first select leaves that are strong, thick and full. Then pinch the succulent leaves with your thumb and index finger, and break the leaves off horizontally. The broken leaves should be placed in a cool and ventilated place to dry.

2. Soil Configuration

During the drying process of succulents, we can prepare loose and breathable nutrient soil. The soil can be mixed with leaf mold and granular soil in equal proportions, and then the soil should be moistened. The moisture should be such that the soil can be formed into a ball when held by hand, but no water can be squeezed out.

3. Leaves inserted into soil

After observing that the wounds on the succulent leaves have dried, place the succulent leaves with the leaf surface facing upwards and flat on the moist soil surface. Then place the potted plants in a diffused light and ventilated environment. When the soil surface turns white, spray a little water on it until the succulent leaves take root.

4. Maintenance after insertion

After the leaves of the succulent have taken root, you can lightly cover the roots with soil, then wait for the soil to dry out and water it thoroughly. After the mother leaves of the succulent have taken root and sprouted, move the potted plants to a place with direct sunlight, gradually increase the light intensity, and maintain them normally as they grow.

5. Notes

If you want succulents to sprout quickly, you must choose a suitable season for leaf cuttings, such as spring and autumn. The temperature in these two seasons is suitable, and the rooting survival rate of leaf cuttings will be higher. Just pay attention to ventilation of the maintenance environment and avoid waterlogging of the succulent mother leaves.
