What to do if orchids don’t bloom? How to make orchids bloom

1. What to do if orchids never bloom?

1. If the orchid keeps growing leaves and no flower buds appear after the flowering period, it may be because the temperature of the breeding environment is not suitable or too much nitrogen fertilizer is applied to it. For these two situations, you can move it to an environment of about 15℃ for maintenance and temporarily stop applying nitrogen fertilizer and instead apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to encourage it to grow flower buds and bloom.

2. If the orchid has flower buds but cannot bloom, it may be because it has been watered too much, causing problems with its root system. At this time, you should immediately control watering and move it to a semi-shaded, ventilated place for slow maintenance. After it recovers, the bud will continue to bloom.

2. How to grow orchids

If you want to grow orchids successfully, you need to keep them in a warm environment between 15-20℃, and shade them when the light is strong so that they can receive scattered light. When the flowering period is approaching, stop applying nitrogen fertilizer and apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer 2-3 times to stimulate flowering. In addition, if you are growing varieties such as Cymbidium orchid that require vernalization, you should place them in a low temperature environment of about 10℃ for vernalization before they enter the flowering period. This way it can bloom successfully.
