How to grow lilies with water

How to grow lilies with water

1. Breeding conditions

1. Water quality: When the room temperature reaches above 20℃, change the water every 2-3 days; when it is around 15℃-20℃, change the water every 3-7 days; when the temperature is below 15℃, change the water once a week.

2. Light: It prefers sunlight, and the suitable temperature is 15℃-25℃. Exposing lily to 6 hours of sunlight every day can make its flowering period come earlier, otherwise it will be delayed.

3. Fertilization: Since it is planted in water, the nutrition is definitely not as good as that planted in soil, so you can pour an appropriate amount of nutrient solution into the water to meet the nutritional needs of the plant during its growth.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Scales: You can choose bulbs grown in autumn, peel off the outer layer of scales, and select the strong and thick scales. When peeling, it is best to leave a part of the disc base tissue on each scale. After the sown scales are cleaned, they can be inserted into the loam.

2. Daughter bulbs: During the growth of lilies, small white bulbs will be produced next to the mother plant. You can use the small bulbs directly for reproduction, which saves a lot of time compared to the scale method.

3. Pest and disease control

1. The symptoms of latent mosaic disease of lily are spots of different colors appearing on the leaves, the plants growing very short, and the leaves being slightly curled. If this is found, the diseased leaves should be removed and destroyed in time.

2. In the early stage of spot disease, there will be small spots on the leaves. If not treated in time, they will expand into brown spots and turn black in the middle. When it is discovered in the early stage, the leaves need to be cut off and pesticides should be sprayed to cut off the spread of the virus.
